My First IUI Experience

19 Feb

As stated in ny previous entry I couldn’t sleep the night before so I was ready for the appointment. We arrived at the office five minutes late and was worried that they would tell me to leave. When we entered the office they smiled at me and were very nice. They were nicer than the weekday staff.

Charlie and I sat in the waiting room and tried to remain calm. I was called to the back and felt myself starting to freak out. I couldn’t believe that this was really happening.

When we got into the room I had to sign some paper work and confirm our donor number. Then the nurse started talking and I had really had no idea what she was saying….blah blah 31 million only need 5 million blah blah get undressed.

I changed and laid on the table. Above the table was a mobile with little white angel babies on it and dust. For me it was totally scary.

The doctor came in and we were ready to start. Charlie didn’t want to do anything but hold my hand. She held my hand and gave me a kiss. I started crying and the next thing I know we were done. I was told to lay on table for five minutes but I laid for eleven.

I was happy that nothing weird happened like in my dream. However, I was afraid that stuff was going to fall out but the assured me that everything was in place. So now the waiting game.

I love that Charlie read Birds and Blooms! That’s a nice, fertile-sounding magazine.

    Good luck, good luck!

It does sound fertile…hopefully there’s something blooming and sticking in there
